The recently finished 17th International Organ Festival has indicated the marvellous conception and organisation work of Ms Irena Chřibková, the festival’s directress and the titular organist of St. James´ Basilica. …. The final concert was a recital of Ms Chřibková who played with an absolute mastery, from both technical and expressional point of view. Her deep understanding of the instrument allowed her to make use of a large scale of gentle colours resulting in an utter compositional insight of Suk´s Meditation on St. Wenceslas Chorale. Franck’s Chorale in A minor thanks to its lovely “French” registration breathed lyrically and was rendered with a deep absorption to its hymnic close. The climax of the whole recital was Chřibková´s virtuoso rendering of Bonnet´s Concerto Variations. The festival has become the most prestigious event in Prague’s organ world and the closing festival’s concert has confirmed this position.
