St. James´ International Organ Festival

Out of other concerts we should point out the final recital of Irena Chřibková. Ms Chřibková appears annually at the festival and it is a meritorious act of her to play pieces for the organ and orchestra which can be rarely heard in the prevailing concert production (e.g. Eben, Hanuš, Kabeláč). This year she performed the Brixi´s Concerto in F major with the Praga sinfonietta orchestra under the baton of Miriam Němcová. Its quick tempo featured the joyful character of the piece. Suk´s Meditation in the organ arrangement of P. Picka was finely registered, followed by Franck´s Chorale in A minor. The recital reached its climax in the Variations de concert by Joseph Bonnet. The final cadenza for a solo pedal revealed Chřibková´s mastery of a pedal play – two feet playing passages, double chords up to four-voice chords. This equilibrium was an integral part of the peerless artistic performance of Ms Chřibková.
